Can you hear the giggles?????
These three remind me of myself and two younger brothers when I was their age....we had a unique bond between us as kids....and still do today.
We were well dressed, well fed....and well behaved......well, we behaved as well as we could as kids......I'll just put it that way. We still had our moments.....moments that now, as adults, we laugh about when it's time for a family dinner around mother's dining room table......she gets to find out all of the fun stuff we did when she wasn't around........ha ha ha......and of course, the three above in the picture are verrrrry tuned in....( I guess they are getting ideas.....ha ha ha.)
We protected each other....stood up for one another....covered for one that may be in "trouble with the belt"....A phrase I don't hear much any more from parents correcting their children......it wasn't mom or dad that held the authority.....nooooo sir....it was "The Belt"....."The Belt" had a special affection for us when we had an attitude or decided that we would sneak in a sass....ha ha.
We cried for the other when he/her had to sit in the corner.......another institute of correction that isn't applied very often today........Oh yeah....we were old school! But, I don't regret it....not one bit. It's almost like being proud to be called an American.....I am thankful for my upbringing. ( Uh hum...I honestly didn't get that many spankings.....all my dad had to do was look me straight in the eye and say...."Young lady, your mother tells me...." and that was when I would melt inside.
I was the oldest....as Miss Priss is here...and the boys were the younger.....it's the same age difference as well....3 1/2 years apart. Just enough to create that natural harmony that siblings have when all is well in the home.
Honestly, we were good kids.....as the Tri-eaux is.....well, if you don't mind....allow me to refer to them as the "Three Musk-a-teers" because you never know what side of goofy will show up.....especially now that their Uncle Bubba is in the picture. He stands alone in the comedy section by himself because ........well, just because.
Thank you for allowing me to take a moment to elaborate on my childhood......I could go on with the stories....but, maybe one day you will be invited to sit around Mama's table and share the laughter with us.
