This is Echo Lake......nestled on a mountain top...where it was verrrrrrrrrrry cold.......the wind was blowing the fresh fallen snow around quite fiercely at different times........in the background, above the mountain ridge.....you can see the snow being blown.....it was a unique place to be.
God provided plenty of sunshine.
Inside the fire-pit.....provided a nice break from the wind that was blowing outside. A wiener roast was about to begin. I have never been on a mountain top to roast hot dogs.......but, I'll tell you one thing.....it was an experience in this kind of weather and one I'll never forget. Just the idea of being there and breathing the fresh clean air of the mountains was enough to forget that I had left my bed unmade at home two days before.....shhhhh!!!!!! don't really want to repeat that! LOL
This was how the ceiling in the fire pit looked.......It was so neat to read some of the names that had passed this way already. And here is the fire pit at Echo Lake.......I believe the name of the mountain we were on was Mt. Evans. About an hour north of Denver.
There are three fire-places inside.....naturally, we all chose the biggest one. Ha. Yes, we had a roaring fire and lots of good hearted laughter.
Over and out,
