The Roger's Neighborhood.....

June 26, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

As my hubby and myself were on our way to get the tractor out of the barn....I noticed something RED......perhaps it's because my favorite color is red......perhaps it's because I love red barns.

If I had a barn......it would be red.......very red.......with pretty little white framed windows and white trimmed doors..with a pretty little copper weather vane, that had been tarnished by the weather........sitting on top of the front gable.

These little lights that my mother n law has placed on the hen-yard fence, were my little inspiration for the morning.....I had to grab a picture....

Meanwhile,  my hubby started the tractor and patiently waited........waited with hand on his hip....... for me to slowly make my way up to the barn.............the barn so blue........that stores an orange tractor.

Complimentary colors.

Notice  below,  the orange tractor,  orange hat,  blue shirt..........totally complimentary .

We believe in balance.

No, we aren't dysfunctional....as some would say........we just function in a unique sort of way.   Ha.

The remainder of the day went as follows.......

pull barbed-wire,

carry T-posts,

hammer T-posts,

cut barbed-wire,

stop and sit on the mule (or mole as we tend to call it)......

sweat as if there is no tomorrow,

complain about how hot it was,

drink more water...........

Shall I go on?????

And listen to these two sing to each other about whatever was on their mind at any given moment.

Who teaches male voice lessons?????????

I wouldn't put them together for a duet any time soon.  Ha.  Just sayin'........

Brad and Bubba........B & B Construction.........well, maybe.  Ha.

We ended the day sitting on the porch while Bubba attempted to teach Brad how to work a Rubick's Cube.....that's all I'm going to say about that.

As I was strolling back to the house to grab some iced-tea for the two guys above,  I spotted this neat little bird house near the pond and had to come back and grab a couple of shots.

The details and the "architecture" caught my attention.   I love things like this.

I love this little chair!!!!!!!!!!!!   Makes me want to sit and think a while....or read a good book.

Honestly, I probably ought to write a separate blog for these next few pictures...because I have had so much fun capturing them.

This little guy.....The Cardinal....( my nick name for him ).....has an ever - watching eye for the feeder I recently put up........He has been so faithful to attend my little porch and visit every few minutes....and of course, he has invited his lady friends to join him.....and faithfully, they do.

This is the first time I have ever caught one in a tree......I caught it this morning.......I was so excited because his angle and the light catching in his little eye was divine!!!

HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe what I had captured when I unloaded my camera into my computer!

I had no longer put out the black-oil sunflower seeds the other day and within minutes, these guys were knocking at my door!  Exactly what I wanted.

These are Tuff-ted Titmice.....a member of the Chickadee family and one of my favorite birds to listen to and have nibble at my little "table of goodies",  at any time of year.

I have been waiting to lure them and all it took was that particular sunflower seed that they love so much.....as much as the Chickadee's do.

I have yet to see a chickadee at my table..but, I know I will soon enough.

Anyway.......this particular shot was caught this morning.......and it took my breath away to find out what a catch it was........surprise to me!

I think he is posing......he doesn't seem to mind my presence...my tripod has been sitting out for a couple of days for them to get used to it...and it hasn't affected them coming.   Yay!!!!!!!

Their expressions make me smile.....

I couldn't resist making this next one a black and white because of the light.....and because of his expression.

At some point, I'll have a longer lens and I'll get really close on these little guys...but, for now......his little tuff was telling me that he was just as curious as I was.

I have to throw in a picture of ....well, not sure if my mother n law has given her a name....so, for the mean time....Shasta keeps coming to mind for her.......she is so pretty....and I love to watch her throw her little weight around......one of our banty hens....."The Bandit's ".....I call them.....they don't socialize much with the rest of the group....so, I have to sneak up on them and catch them very cautiously.

For some reason...when I look at them and watch them......I tend to see them wearing little sombreros  and singing in spanish......don't ask me why...but, it's what happens when I see them....ha.

Well, lot's has been going on here at the farm ......fence repairs...bird - watching..chicken watching.    It's all work.....but, a good kind of work....work that makes you feel good inside.  Tired...but, a good tired.

God is so good to us.   He has kept us and is our constant Provider.

Over and Out,

Mr's Rogers
