Thriving Life in the Country....

Oh how they are growing!  These beauties ...the Bard rock Hens...the newest gals of the green acres....are so unique.

A little more curious..with caution they are proving to be.

They are quickly learning the ways of the older "mother hens" and gathering around my porch or greeting me quickly in the chicken yard.

Not too shy of the camera either......this particular one didn't mind being photographed a bit.

However, these next group of " bandit escape artists" are on the run all of the time....unique in their own way.....I had to literally sneak upon them this morning before I jumped in the car to run some errands......

In the last couple of weeks....we have heard a most unusual gurgle of a sound from the bunch.......come to find out.....we have a rooster in the Bandit bunch!!!!

His name is Rusty...and he has already learned to round up his gals and calls the order ....and believe me...they all run.

We have yet to find out how he's going to handle being the Big-Daddy Bandit with the rest of the barnyard gals......I've already lost count as to how many there are all together.

I was having to play "OO7" this morning to capture them all together.....they look a bit surprised...don't ya think!    ( can you hear the wicked little laugh that came forth from me when I caught them on camera!???)

Penny Mac is doing splendid.  She has produced some of the prettiest colors .......and if I can manage to keep her watered well in this heat.....I look forward to her beautiful bounty of blooms the remainder of the summer.

Last, but, not the least on my dinner table this evening are fresh garden tomatoes from the garden.

This wonderful bounty of blessing was sitting on my porch this morning.    I have a hunch it was my mother - in - law that so kindly shared her picking's from this morning.

There is nothing like a red, juicy, sweet tasting,  fresh from the garden tomato........you hungry yet??????

Dinner is almost ready.

Sorry for the lack of writing....life has been keeping us busy lately and sometimes I am too tired to get out and capture what is going on..but, I'll do my best to keep you posted.

Over and out,

Mrs. Rogers
